The Opportunity
As a Project Engineer (Mechanical), youâll be at the heart of the action â coordinating all mechanical engineering functions across pre- and post-contract stages. From procurement and planning through to installation and handover, youâll ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and safety standards.
This role isnât just about ticking boxes. Youâll be working on high-profile mechanical capex projects that matter, liaising with designers, suppliers, and subcontractors to drive successful outcomes.
What youâll be doing

Lead mechanical engineering delivery across multiple Yorkshire Water projects.
*
Coordinate procurement, subcontractors, and offsite modular solutions.
*
Ensure designs and installations integrate seamlessly with other disciplines.
*
Oversee quality, productivity, and safety standards on and off site.
*
Support commercial colleagues on contracts, costs, and subcontract reviews.
*
Act as the go-to Project Engineer for installation, technical, and client matters.
What weâre looking for
*
Mechanical Project Engineer background with at least 5 yearsâ industry experience.
*
Degree/HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
*
Water & wastewater industry knowledge.
*
SMSTS / SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid.
*
Organised, commercially aware, and confident leading from the front.
