HGV Technician – Corby
1. Position: HGV Technician
2. Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
3. Salary: Circa £45,000 (negotiable for the right candidate)

5. Rotating weekly shifts:
6. 6:00am – 2:00pm
7. 10:00am – 6:00pm
Our client is a well-established organisation based in Corby, operating a modern commercial vehicle fleet and investing heavily in their people, equipment, and long-term stability. They are now seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their in-house workshop team, maintaining and repairing company vehicles to the highest safety and compliance standards.

HGV Technician Responsibilities:
8. Inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of HGVs and company commercial vehicles in line with Department of Transport standards
9. Rectifying reported driver defects and completing all relevant service documentation
10. Carrying out diagnostics and fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems
11. Road testing vehicles when required to ensure repairs are completed correctly
12. Preparing vehicles for MOTs and liaising with external workshops when specialist repairs are needed
13. Attending vehicle breakdowns on-site and off-site when required
14. Undertaking repairs on associated equipment where necessary
15. Supporting workshop operations, including ad-hoc supervisory cover when required
Requirements / Experience for the HGV Technician:
16. Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or similar role
17. Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent
18. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
19. Good understanding of Department of Transport compliance and operating requirements
20. LGV licence desirable but not essential
21. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
