Where I’d work: Opportunities available in Bradford, Leeds, Hull, and York, with travel across Yorkshire region required.
Work type: One permanent and two temporary positions (12-18 months). Full-time, 37 hours/week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, with occasional out-of-hours/weekend work.
Role overview: Play a key role in ensuring high-quality water supply by executing planned interventions, cyclical network inspections, and reducing water discolouration issues.
Responsibilities include:
1. Carrying out planned flushing and sampling, deploying data loggers pre- and post-activity.
2. Executing and recording flushing activities with desired flow/duration.
3. Amending schematics/timetables for unforeseen issues.
4. Capturing data on sediment removal.
5. Undertaking risk assessments for flushing activities.
Skills & qualifications:
* Understanding of potable water distribution network assets.
* Strong Health and Safety awareness.
* Knowledge of water hydraulics principles.
* Pragmatic approach, adaptable to short-notice changes.
* Application of water hygiene principles.
* Ability to work independently and in teams.
* Water hygiene accreditation or Calm network training is advantageous but full training provided.
