Job Title: Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist
Location: Acorn Park School – Norfolk NR16 2HU
Salary: Up to £53,200 DOE plus £3,000 Welcome Bonus (one payment of £1,500 after completing one month and a further payment of £1,500 upon completion of final probation period, T&C's apply)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, core school hours (part-time hours may be considered)
Contract: Permanent 52 weeks
Essential Requirements:
* Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree
* HCPC registered and member of RCOT
* Relevant experience in a previous role (LD, SEMH, neurodivergence)
* Enhanced knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application
* Experience of multi‑disciplinary working in a range of settings, with responsibility for service & team performance
* Experience of communicating with families/relatives and carers
* Good communication and relationship skills, analytical and judgemental skills
* Clear understanding of the relationship between behaviour and communication
* Clear understanding of physical needs, dexterity, coordination and sensory skills for assessment and treatment
* Clear understanding of developmental needs that may impact on an individual and independence skills
* Up to date knowledge of neurodivergence, learning disability and trauma‑informed practice approaches
* Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management
* Good clinical reasoning skills and ability to express rationale confidently
* Ability to engage in quality improvement and enhanced service delivery
* Knowledge of information governance, confidentiality and record keeping standards
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of the multi‑disciplinary team and support supervision of staff and students
* Sound knowledge of assessment tools, intervention programmes and formulation of treatment plans from a range of OT modalities
* Evidence of continuous professional development and consistent self‑development
* Full driving licence and access to a car
* Willingness to travel on company business
* Flexibility, creative problem‑solver, works under pressure and deadlines
Desirable:
* 3+ years practising as an OT
* Formal post‑graduate study in Sensory Integration and/or developmental trauma and/or sensory attachment
Responsibilities:
* Deliver bespoke OT assessment and intervention to pupils (ages 4‑19) with developmental trauma, neuro‑divergence, SEMH needs and other complex needs.
* Work collaboratively with the education team, clinical colleagues and families to support engagement, independence, and meaningful outcomes.
* Maintain caseload with support from clinical supervisor and site lead, contribute to staff training and consultation.
* Provide clinical supervision to therapy assistants, students or apprentices when required.
* Support the development of an enhanced OT offer and support growth of apprentices, students and therapy assistants.
* Engage in quality improvement initiatives and maintain up‑to‑date clinical records.
