This is a full‑time substantive appointment to serve as Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. The role involves 10 PAs and requires working across two sites—Russells Hall Hospital and Corbett Outpatient Centre—traveling between them as needed. You will work in a paired team; when your colleague is unavailable, the other member covers patients at the main hospital. Emergency care is only at Russells Hall; Corbett offers no emergencies. The post holder will support both trauma and elective services, helping surgeons develop a comprehensive service with a focus on knee/soft‑tissue knee subspeciality and arthroplasty. You are expected to play a key role in developing knee surgery services, working with department colleagues and allied professionals.
Fixed sessions are set by the timetable below and include elective and trauma theatre sessions and outpatient clinics for new and follow‑up appointments. Timetables are subject to confirmation and may change with service reconfiguration. There is an option to run an additional list for soft‑tissue knee trauma cases every fortnight.
