Job overview
These posts are for a Trust Doctor to support the Medical Same Day Emergency Care Units for a fixed-term contract. This is a full-time post with a rota pattern that includes long days and a 7-day service.
The Trust operates across two acute sites with duplicated services. The acute stroke unit is at Calderdale Hospital; specialist gastroenterology and oncology/haematology wards are at Huddersfield.
Main duties of the job
Weekly Medical Grand rounds with teaching, journal club and Core medical teaching sessions in the Education Centre. Separate training is provided for non-technical skills such as handover and communication. CHFT offers a Clinical Skills Training Room with simulation for procedures such as chest drain insertion and central venous cannulation.
The Trust supports a doctor’s membership and progression towards MRCP and PACES, and sign-off of competencies to enable application for higher training.

Person specification
Qualifications
* MRCP (both parts) or equivalent
* Registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise
Experience and Achievements
* Demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of the Medicine specialty
* Understand current issues within Medicine and the future direction of the specialty
* Understand current issues within the wider NHS
* Attendance at a recognised management course
* Ability to work with and lead others across professions
Teaching and Training
* Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff
* Academic achievements or familiarity with research methods with publications
* Training in clinical and educational supervision
* Attendance at a teaching course
* Formal qualification in teaching/education
