We are seeking an IT Specialist to join our friendly, customer-focused IT and Audio-Visual department.
As an IT Specialist, you will be the face of the IT team, providing on-site technical support to Bradford College students and staff. This will include supporting and troubleshooting laptops, PCs, tablets, phones, and specialist software & hardware.
Please note that interviews for this role will take place on Thursday 10th July.
Responsibilities include:
* Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications
* Assist staff through face-to-face and phone support to set up systems and resolve issues
* Troubleshoot system and basic network problems, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults
* Replace parts as needed
* Create and update user guides, procedures, and reports
* Follow diagrams and instructions to repair faults and set up systems
* Support testing and deployment of new applications/technologies
* Set up and configure new user accounts
* Respond to support calls within agreed timeframes
* Work on tasks until completion or escalate appropriately
* Prioritize and manage support cases
* Maintain good relationships with staff and suppliers
* Provide cover for the IT Service Desk as needed

Education & Training
* GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before the interview; if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale
* GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test before the interview; if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale
* IT-related qualification or equivalent experience
Experience
* Experience and knowledge of PC support, including Microsoft Office applications and desktop operating systems
* Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing PCs
* Ability to explain technologies to non-technical users
