Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. You will play a vital role in supporting dentists during patient treatments, ensuring a high standard of patient care and maintaining the smooth operation of the clinic. We are a family‑run, mostly NHS practice, with a good local reputation. We are a foundation training practice for the Yorkshire Deanery and care for local sports teams including Bradford City and Bradford Bulls. We have a settled team who have been with us for a long time; the position is available due to a member of staff retiring. We are located in the village of Rastrick, outside Brighouse, close to junctions 24 and 25 of the M62. Free public parking is available close to the practice. We have exciting expansion plans for next year.
Duties
* Assist dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
* Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments in accordance with health and safety regulations
* Provide pre‑ and post‑treatment care instructions to patients
* Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems
* Manage appointment scheduling and patient correspondence efficiently
* Support patients with their queries
* Uphold high standards of infection control and hygiene throughout the practice
* Ensure the organisation of clinical supplies and equipment for daily operations
Qualifications
* Proven experience in patient care, preferably within a dental or healthcare setting
* Good command of English, both written and spoken
* Formal training or qualification in nursing or dental nursing recognised by relevant authorities
* Basic IT skills for managing patient records and appointment systems
* Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
* Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
* Ability to work as part of a team while demonstrating professionalism and empathy
