The School and Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in both mainstream and specialist settings. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure every child receives the individualised care and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
In this role, you'll be working closely with pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties, providing 1:1 and small group support to help them thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive setting.
Requirements
The desired Teaching Assistant will have;
1. Ability to relate well to children and adults and communicate effectively at all levels
2. Ability to deal effectively with students presenting challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques as appropriate
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
4. Knowledge and experience of behaviour management and restorative strategies
5. Experienced and comfortable with personal care
6. Having a driving licence is desirable for this role
