Neighbourhoods Housing Officer
Location: Okehampton / Tavistock / Cullompton
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Contract: Fixed term until April 2026
Salary: £20.05 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Housing Officer to manage a defined neighbourhood patch. Acting as the primary relationship manager for residents, you will deliver high-quality front-line housing services, manage tenancy matters, and help maintain safe, welcoming communities.
You will work closely with internal teams and external partners, support new housing developments, and play a key role in resident engagement and neighbourhood sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver outstanding customer service, responding to tenancy queries and permissions
Conduct tenancy sign-ups, viewings, and ensure compliance with tenancy agreements
Manage tenancy breaches, including safeguarding concerns
Oversee estate standards and service contracts to ensure value for money
Promote resident engagement and support community development initiatives
Work collaboratively to maintain positive neighbourhood environments
About You
You will bring:
Experience in social housing, including tenancy, estate, and housing management
CIH Level 4 qualification (or willingness to work towards)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
A strong customer focus with a drive to improve satisfaction
A full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle

This role involves working with vulnerable individuals. An enhanced DBS check will be required as part of the recruitment process.
