This interim part-time role is the operational lead for the organisation, with responsibility for overseeing and optimising the daily operations of the business, ensuring efficient processes, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with strategic goals. It is a part-time position, working approximately 2.5 days per week for a period of 9 months.
We are a well-established metal finishing company with an annual turnover of approximately £5 million, known for delivering high-quality, precision-engineering products. With a strong reputation and stable client base, we are now entering a transformative phase of growth. Our strategic priority is to diversify into new sectors, strengthen our position within B2B supply chains and expand our customer portfolio.
The role is part of the Executive Board and works closely with other directors in setting strategic direction and targets, measuring business performance and standards, and maximising opportunities for profitable sales growth. The Operations Director will influence and direct the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in continuous improvement, positively impacting the working environment, business processes, and the operational capability and capacity of the Company.
Maintaining effective formal and informal relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, will be a key part of this role. With a client first mindset, the Operations Director will be ensuring delivery of current and potential customer needs. To achieve this, they should have strong leadership skills and excellent problem-solving skills along with good communication skills.
