You will provide direct Dispensary Reception services and work as part of our dispensing team. We are seeking to recruit the right candidate to join our Dispensary Team in a role that combines Reception, Dispensing, and Dispensary activities. This role supports the entire practice in delivering first-class primary healthcare services to our patients.
Main duties of the job
The general purpose of the post includes, but is not limited to:
1. Providing the first point of contact for the Dispensary and the Practice.
2. Working as part of the Dispensary Team to deliver full Front of House activities (and Dispensary activities over time), including covering for holidays and sickness within the team.
3. Offering general assistance to the practice team and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors.
4. Being a key contact for enquiries from patients, external organizations, third parties, etc.
About us
We are a semi-rural Dispensing Practice with a friendly, supportive team of Administrators, Practice Nurses, HCAs, GPs, and Dispensers. We achieve high QoF and CQC success, focusing on patient-centered care and providing our family doctor service to our community.
We are at a stage where we need additional Dispensing support to maintain this quality service and to drive developments across the practice.
Job responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Dispenser who is friendly and enthusiastic. Experience in a patient-facing role in Primary Care or the NHS is essential. The successful candidate should be confident, well-organized, able to self-manage, and proficient in IT. A proactive and positive attitude, flexibility, and resourcefulness are crucial. This role involves continuous face-to-face patient contact; therefore, patience, calmness, and a welcoming demeanor are essential to support our patients and community with their Dispensing and Health needs.

Experience
* Experienced dispenser
* Stamina, patience, and a good sense of humor to succeed in a busy GP Surgery environment
* Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding but rewarding role
* Experience in a patient-facing first contact role
* Willingness and drive to develop the role in partnership with the practice team, including gaining relevant experience and knowledge
* Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach

* GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent Key Skills qualifications

* Experience using EMIS Clinical System
* Previous experience working in a Primary Care dispensary

£12.79 per hour, with a pay increase to £13.50/hour upon passing probation.
