The Engineer will be primarily responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the key Technology Products supporting our People functions powering Checkout employees. Leveraging Workday and several other best-in-class enterprise systems you will operate in a highly technical, cross-functional team and integrate solutions that are secure, reliable and resilient.
How you’ll make an impact:
In this role, you will analyse business requirements and configure processes and related security, as well as develop and build integrations within the Workday tenant to meet business requirements leveraging complex calculated fields to ensure internal customers requirements are met while ensuring data and security consistency across all People Tech platforms.
As an Engineer, you will triage and respond to queries from across the business. Alongside this, collaborate with People Tech Management, Product and Principal Engineers and other workday functional areas on any data requirements focusing on Workday support with additional cross-functional support opportunities in other technologies.
What you will be doing:
* Manage the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Workday and other people systems in alignment with the organization’s programs, goals, and data security framework.
* Work closely with stakeholders to analyze business requirements and create technical specifications to meet the requested functionality.
* Must be able to communicate in a clear, concise, professional oral or written, to be understood by customers, clients, co-workers, and other employees of the organization.
* Collaborate with other workday functional areas including Financials, reporting, security, and integrations.
* Create standard operating procedures, system documentation, share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
* Support Workday and other system releases and Adoption Item implementations.
* Be the technical expert in your area, responsible for ensuring that Checkout.com extracts the most value out of our People Technology ecosystem
* Proactively research new functionality and provide recommendations on new features/functionality/technologies that could be used to improve effectiveness, efficiency and user experience
* Support/provide input to develop the HR technology systems, service road map, change control processes and incident management frameworks
* Provide technical content to support the development of materials to effectively train end-users on how to use the HR system
* On-call Support as required
What we’re looking for:
* The ideal candidate should have 1 year+ experience as a developer in implementing and managing Core HCM/HRIS (specifically Workday) platforms and other systems across the employee lifecycle - such as L&D, Talent Acquisition, Service Delivery, and compensation management platforms.
* 1+ years of proven experience in software development with a proven track record delivering high quality software
* Familiarity with compliance regulations and data privacy practices related to People and HR systems.
* Independently productive and able to drive assigned tasks to completion by due dates while interacting with customers and stakeholders on a regular basis.
* Curious and motivated by solving impactful business problems
* Someone who thrives in a highly collaborative and agile culture
* Someone with a strong desire to learn and continuously improve your craft
* Ability to manage ambiguity, risk and changing direction of projects and strategies
* Relevant Workday training and Workday Pro Certifications
Additional experience preferred:
* Experience with data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence tools.
* Knowledge of machine learning, natural language processing, or other AI technologies
* Experience working with additional tools in parallel to Workday (e.g. FreshService, Jira, Cornerstone, Slack, gSuite, Confluence, SmartRecruiters)
