Pre-Construction Manager

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded main contractor, is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their growing team in Scotland’s Central Belt. With a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects across multiple sectors, this is an excellent opportunity for a pre-construction professional looking to play a key role in project development and tender success.
The Opportunity
Working as part of a collaborative pre-construction team, the successful candidate will lead the coordination and management of the pre-construction phase across a range of projects including commercial, residential, education, and healthcare developments.
This role will involve working closely with internal estimating, commercial, and operational teams, as well as external consultants and clients, to ensure projects are thoroughly planned and positioned for successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing the full pre-construction lifecycle from initial enquiry through to project handover to the delivery team
* Coordinating design teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders during the bid and planning stages
* Supporting and leading tender submissions and bid strategies
* Working closely with estimating teams to ensure competitive and deliverable pricing
* Managing design development and buildability reviews
* Identifying project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
* Developing and maintaining pre-construction programmes
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
Requirements
* Proven experience in a Pre-Construction Manager, Bid Manager, or Senior Design Management role within a main contractor environment
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, design coordination, and tendering processes
* Experience working on projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, or healthcare
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines effectively
* Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar discipline (preferred)
