JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Duty Officer / Caretaker / Facilities Assistant with excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and administrative skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
As a Duty Officer / Caretaker / Facilities Assistant, you will be responsible for providing caretaking services, liaising with third-party contractors, welcoming visitors, and ensuring that the reception, courtyards, paths, car parks, goods-in area, plant room, and bin store are clean and tidy. You will also support the wider team in managing meeting room bookings.
You will carry out daily building checks, ensuring all equipment and facilities are used safely.

DUTIES
Your duties include:
* Providing excellent customer service in communication with tenants, staff, and visitors. Liaising with contractors and supporting routine enquiries. Supporting the team in managing meeting room bookings.
* Ensuring the presentation of reception and communal areas is excellent at all times, including courtyards, paths, car parks, goods-in area, plant room, and bin store.
* Carrying out daily building checks, documenting requirements, and reporting urgent actions to the Centre Manager.
* Supporting health and safety checks, including testing fire and intruder alarm systems, emergency lighting, fire equipment, water temperatures, and maintaining clear routes. Reporting issues to the Centre Manager.
* Maintaining building security, operating CCTV and video systems, and managing 'out of hours' access, including opening and locking up.
* Conducting regular building checks to ensure high standards, with work programmes established with the Centre Manager, including emergency cleaning when needed.
* Working effectively as part of a team, sharing information, attending meetings, and supporting colleagues to ensure smooth facility operations.
