As Mechanical Design Engineer will you be responsible for:
Design & Engineering: Develop precise 3D CAD models and assembly drawings using PTC Creo and AutoCAD, alongside detailed 2D drawings.
Product Maintenance & Improvement: Update and refine existing models and drawings in line with EAN standards to support established product lines.
Innovation & Value Engineering: Contribute to value engineering initiatives and ongoing product enhancement.
Documentation & Manuals: Create, update, and manage product instruction manuals, operating guides, and supporting sales literature.
Contract & Project Support: Assist in preparing contract documentation and collaborate closely with the engineering team on bespoke, large-scale projects.
Process & Quality Development: Help shape and improve workshop and factory procedures to ensure high standards and efficient operations.
Client Engagement: Take part in project meetings and liaise with clients to support project delivery.
BOM & MRP System Management: Maintain and manage Bills of Materials within the company's MRP system.
Project Preparation: Support the engineering team by preparing designs, calculations, specifications, and tender documentation. To be considered for the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will require:
Degree-level education in Engineering, however equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Experience in designing precision piece-part components.
Strong understanding of geometrical tolerances.
Proficiency in 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD.
Sound knowledge of 3D CAD software, ideally Creo or SolidWorks.
Excellent numerical aptitude with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Experienced in creating and managing Bills of Materials within CAD systems.
Proactive and practical mindset, with a 'hands-on' approach.
