Job Title – Days Based Maintenance Engineer
Location – Sudbury Factory
Shift Pattern – Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week

Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Days-based Maintenance Engineer at our Nestlé Purina site in Sudbury.
The Sudbury factory employs 200 staff and produces popular UK brands such as Go-Cat, Bakers, Purina ONE, BETA, and Pro Plan, catering to diverse consumer needs. Sudbury, located in the Stour valley, offers natural beauty and proximity to London via Colchester.

A day in the life of a Days Based Maintenance Engineer
You will support the factory's asset maintenance program to minimize unplanned downtime, optimize costs, and improve asset performance. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, supporting line improvements, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance, and developing team capabilities.
Other key duties:
* Perform reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
* Support breakdowns and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
* Promote a safety-first culture and eliminate risks.
* Ensure all work adheres to engineering standards, GMP, and safety protocols.
* Record breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis, and follow up on actions.
* Support root cause analysis and team development initiatives.
What will make you successful?
Ideal candidates will have FMCG manufacturing maintenance experience, a proactive approach, and a passion for continuous improvement. Attributes include:
* Apprenticeship-level NVQ 3 in Engineering (Multi-skilled), with Electrical bias preferred, or equivalent.
* Experience in FMCG food manufacturing preferred.
* Proven track record in Planned Preventative Maintenance.
* Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving tools.
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools, including TPM (desirable).
