Overview
Due to retirement we have an exciting and rare opportunity for a highly specialist paediatric physiotherapist to join Integrated Community Paediatric Services (ICPS) in the role of Physiotherapy Service Lead. The post holder will take responsibility for the delivery of the Community Paediatric Physiotherapy Service, the Paediatric Community Orthotic service and Therapy Focus Suffolk and will also support management of integrated therapy teams working within specific special schools and child development pathways. The post holder will be leading a large countywide team supporting children, young people and families (0-19) with primarily long term neuro- developmental conditions. The role requires a good level of highly specialist clinical paediatric PT experience & skills coupled with skills in management and leadership. Knowledge and understanding of professional and governance issues related to Physiotherapy, Community Children\'s services, SEND and Safeguarding is critical to the post. You will be working in a multi agency and multi disciplinary context developing collaborative working relationships at a clinical, operational and strategic level.
Responsibilities
* The Service Lead Paediatric Physiotherapy/Integrated Therapy Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day running of their portfolio of high-quality specialist clinical services (Countywide Physiotherapy Team, Therapy Focus Suffolk Service and specific integrated therapy teams).
* To be responsible and accountable for a countywide Community Paediatric Physiotherapy Team (36 staff) including recruitment, budgets, resources & development. To facilitate CPD, performance management and appraisal (10 direct reports).
* Service Lead Paediatric Physiotherapy/ Integrated Therapy Manager is responsible for delivering key quality, performance and financial plans, achieving key service improvements within Integrated Community Paediatric Services and line managing designated complex pathway leads and highly specialist PTs.
* To work with the Integrated Community Paediatric Services (ICPS) Associate Director to provide a safe, efficient and cost effective patient centred Paediatric service throughout ICPS and deliver national and local KPIs, targets, standards and contractual requirements of commissioners.
This post is an integral member of the Integrated Community Paediatric Services management team and will also lead on projects and delegated areas of responsibility within community services. The post will be based in one of our core bases in Ipswich or Bury St Edmunds with travel expected across the county to support service delivery and management. The successful candidate will be dynamic and able to develop positive and productive relationships with our core partners across children\'s and young people\'s services in Suffolk. The post holder will be leading service developments and should have experience of leading innovative change.
Requirements / Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of professional and governance issues related to Physiotherapy, Community Children\'s services, SEND and Safeguarding is critical to the post. You will be working in a multi agency and multi disciplinary context.
