Pastoral Assistant

Tradewind are currently recruiting for a dedicated Pastoral Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic behaviour team in a mainstream secondary school based in the heart of West Bromwich. This is an incredibly rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping students overcome barriers to learning, manage their emotions, and build confidence and resilience.
About you
* Experience working in a pastoral role, ideally in a secondary or further education setting
* Strong interpersonal skills; able to engage with students, staff, families, and external professionals
* Excellent organisational ability, able to manage data, attendance records, interventions, etc.
* Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to supporting young peoples personal, social and emotional development
* Understanding of safeguarding requirements and familiarity with relevant legislation
* A flexible, proactive, solution‑focused mindset
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to implement support plans tailored to individual needs.
* Respond to behaviour incidents in a calm and restorative manner, promoting a positive and respectful school culture.
* Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
* Support the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils, adhering to school and national policies.
