Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse or pharmacy technician to join our expanding corporate SACT Protocols team as a Senior Specialist in Medicines Management & E-Prescribing. This newly created role reflects the continued growth of our service and our commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred cancer care across HCA UK.
As a senior member of the team, you will support the development, governance and implementation of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) protocols across HCA UK. You will be responsible for building and validating protocols within the Mosaiq e-prescribing system, contributing to clinical audit, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. You will also be involved in horizon scanning, formulary management, and ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards and prescribing safety.
You will play a key role in education and training, delivering sessions to colleagues on the safe use of e-prescribing systems and supporting the development of training frameworks for the wider team. You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary team of pharmacists, technicians, nurses and oncology consultants which aims to grow further over the next 12 months.
What You'll Bring
* Nurse applicants - Relevant nursing degree and registration with the NMC
* Technician applicants - BTEC / NVQ Level 3 qualification in Pharmaceutical Science / Pharmacy Service Skills/PTTP (or equivalent) and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in an oncology and/or haematology setting as a registered nurse or a registered pharmacy technician (essential)
* Proven experience in electronic prescribing systems, including system navigation, data integrity, and workflow optimisation (desirable)
* Experience delivering training and supervising junior colleagues
* Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
* Committed to patient safety, service improvement, and multidisciplinary teamwork
