Title: Technical Assessor
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £34,000-£38,000

SRG are working with a well-established, family-run business specialising in waste management and environmental services. They are now looking for an experienced Technical Assessor/ Senior Technical Assessor to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the compliance and classification of waste following the relevant regulatory guidelines. This would suit candidates with 2+ years’ experience as a technical assessor at a waste company.
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-2:30pm. 24 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays.
Role / Description
* Conduct technical assessments of waste management operations to ensure compliance with environmental and industry regulations.
* Evaluate applications for permits, accreditations, or certifications related to waste processing, recycling, and disposal.
* Provide expert advice on waste classification, handling, treatment, and disposal methods.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and internal teams to ensure consistent interpretation of waste legislation and best practices.
* Analysis of information to determine waste transportation methods (ADR/IMDG regs)
* Work alongside DGSA’s, management, sales and chemists to facilitate smooth running of inbound and outbound waste streams.
Requirements
* Recent experience working as a technical assessor in the waste industry
* Minimum HNC in Chemistry
* DGSA – preferred
* Knowledge and understanding of IOSH, ADR, WM3, IMDG and other waste regulations
