East Caithness Community Nursing Team are offering the opportunity for an experienced District Nurse or with equivalent qualifications, to hold a dynamic caseload of patients within a defined geographical area/neighbourhood.

The post holder will work as part of the team, provide leadership and supervision to registered and non-registered staff, and hold responsibilities and accountability for assessments, caseload management and patient-centred care planning.

The post holder will have advanced clinical assessment skills and be a non-medical prescriber, enabling them to be responsive to changing health care needs and complexities for the patients we support. The post holder requires having a Qualified District Nurse with the Specialist Practice Qualification.

East Caithness Community Team operates between 09:00 and 17:00 over 7 days per week including Public Holidays.

A full driving licence is essential for this post.

This is a permanent part-time post of 18.5 hours per week to be worked in accordance with service requirements and will be based with the East Caithness Community Nursing Team, Wick Medical Centre.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES

1. Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
