Senior Systems Engineer
A UK-based engineering and technology organisation is looking to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer to work across complex engineering products and customer-facing programmes. This role offers involvement across the full systems lifecycle, from concept through to delivery and in-service support.
The Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work on systems design, integration and test activities across multiple projects. The Senior Systems Engineer will collaborate with software, mechanical and electrical teams, while also supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
Systems design, integration and test as a Senior Systems Engineer
Working across the full product and systems lifecycle
Producing clear technical documentation, specifications and reports
Supporting junior engineers through mentoring and technical guidance
Engaging with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
Contributing across multiple projects as requirements change
The Senior Systems Engineer role is based in Enfield and will involve some business travel depending on project needs.
Essential Requirements
Degree qualified in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics, or equivalent experience
Experience in systems engineering, integration and test
Broad understanding of software, mechanical and electrical disciplines
Strong communication skills with a high standard of written English
Willingness to travel for business requirements
Full UK driving licence
Eligible to apply for UK Security Clearance
Desirable Experience
Exposure to radar or radio-based systems
Experience across the full product lifecycle
Knowledge of external testing and verification standards
Experience with communications protocols such as TCP/IP, RS232 or CANBus
Background in defence, maritime or safety-critical environments
