Week 1: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Week 2: Monday - Friday, 12:00pm - 8:00pm
Week 3: Monday - Wednesday, 9:00am - 5:00pm | Saturday & Sunday, 8:00am - 8:00pm

A well-established homelessness support provider in Banbury is looking for a Senior Support Worker to join their dedicated team.
This role supports two key services designed to assist individuals experiencing homelessness and those with complex needs. One service provides Step Down accommodation for individuals discharged from hospital, helping them transition safely into the community. The second provides temporary accommodation and support for individuals preparing for independent living or requiring emergency housing provision.
Working as part of a small, supportive, and dynamic team, you will play a key role in providing high-quality support, managing complex cases, and helping individuals move towards stability and independence.

Key Responsibilities
Assess, monitor, and manage risk for individuals accessing the service
Review referrals, assess suitability, and coordinate client admissions
Deliver high-quality support and housing management in line with organisational policies
Develop individualised support and move-on plans for clients with complex needs
Work closely with partner agencies including healthcare services, housing providers, and social services
Support clients to move towards suitable long-term accommodation within agreed timeframes
Facilitate activities and engagement opportunities to build confidence and independent living skills
Manage and maintain Housing Benefit claims
Maintain accurate records and update internal IT systems
Attend and represent the service at multi-agency meetings
Respond to challenging situations and follow safeguarding procedures where necessary
Support new staff and contribute positively to the wider team environmentWhat We Are Looking For
Essential
Understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness
Experience working in a frontline, face-to-face support environment
Experience supporting individuals with mental health, substance misuse, or complex needs
Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage challenging behaviour and crisis situations
Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
Strong organisational and case management skillsDesirable
Experience working in a hostel or supported housing environment
Experience working within homelessness services or community support organisationsPersonal Qualities
