Job Description:
This is a sub-contract machine shop in the Halesowen area in the West Midlands. The field of work includes small batch work, one-offs on various small to medium components from aerospace to Steam Engines. They are currently looking to recruit a milling programmer setter operator. This is a permanent position offering a good working environment and the opportunity to work within a strong and friendly team in a thriving and successful business.
Role and responsibilities:
* Programme, set, and operate CNC Vertical Milling Machines to run efficiently, and set machines for operators.
* Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings in Metric and English.
* Produce CNC programs to manufacture products on time and to customer specifications using One CNC CAD/CAM Software XR6.
* Assist in developing new and existing manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize performance.
* Responsible for machining own jigs and fixtures.
* Help train/develop other personnel in all aspects of the cell.
Knowledge/Experience Required:
* Experience setting and programming Haas and Dai-Lih VMC (Fanuc Controls).
* Experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Apprentice trained with at least 5 years’ experience.

Hours and salary:
* Standard week is 40 hours, working either 6 am to 2 pm or 7 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday.
* Break times are one 20-minute break, Monday to Friday, possibly broken down into two 10-minute breaks if needed.
* Sometimes Saturdays are required.
