Job Overview
Maternity services are looking to employ HCSW's to support midwives, mothers, babies and their families.
Main Duties
The main duties of the job include:
* To welcome and support women, relatives, friends and other visitors to the clinical area.
* To participate in the delivery of clinical care and undertake clinical duties, which are allocated and directly supervised by a registered midwife or registered nurse.
* To share with midwives and or nurses information relating to the care of mothers and babies and to assist mothers in the care of their babies
* To assist in the care of women within the hospital, to ensure their needs are met both physically and psychologically.
* To report any changes in women's condition to the midwife in charge and respond to clinical emergencies.
* To escort women and their babies needing to attend other departments within and the Health Board.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential criteria:
* Previous experience in HCSW role
* Ability to perform general observations
* Working towards level 2 NVQ
Desirable criteria:
* Ability to speak Welsh
