Animal Care Specialist Job (Private Household)
A couple with two elderly dogs and a cat are seeking a wonderful and experienced Animal Care Specialist. This role focuses on providing attentive, loving, and well-organised care for their animals. The family will also be welcoming two puppies in January.
The elderly dogs require medication and follow a well-established routine. The family divide their time between their main home in Kettering and a newly renovated London property. You will accompany them when they travel, staying overnight in a guest room at the London residence.
There is a wider team in place, including a PA and housekeepers. You will be required to work 10 weekends per year when the family travel. Flexibility and a non–clock-watching attitude are important.
Care for
* 2 rescue dogs from China (aged 14 and 15)
* 1 cat (aged 12)
* 2 puppies arriving in January
Responsibilities
* Creating and maintaining nutrition and feeding schedules
* Implementing exercise, enrichment, and routine discipline
* Monitoring health and administering medication
* Grooming and general pet hygiene
* Driving pets to vet and grooming appointments
* Providing companionship, attention, and stimulation
* Accompanying the couple and pets between Kettering and London
Driving is essential.
A veterinary medical background and strong pet nutrition knowledge are highly preferred.
Salary: £45,000 GPA (Negotiable depending on experience)
Days/Hours: 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required. 10 weekends a year for when the family are on holiday.
