Primary Teaching Assistant
Support young learners to grow and thrive. Join a vibrant mainstream primary school in, supporting children with SEND. This long‑term temporary role, with potential to become permanent, is ideal for enthusiastic individuals with SEND experience or those ready to make the move from support, health, care, or social services into the classroom.
Responsibilities
* You’ll assist with classroom learning, small‑group interventions, and whole‑class support. You’ll work closely with the class teacher to help implement personalised learning plans and ensure every child can access the curriculum.
The Ideal Person
* Applicants should have a recognised Teaching Assistant, Childcare or EYFS qualification and experience supporting children with additional needs. You’ll be compassionate, patient, and committed to inclusive education. Confidence in delivering phonics, reading, maths, and fostering independence in learners is essential.

Hours
8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. Full time or part time options are welcome.
Safeguarding and Employment Details
Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
