Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in working in a small kitchen environment, must be comfortable working alone. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations in the absence of the head chef ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety, must have the suitable experience in assisting the head chef in preparing and serving large functions. The job requires the Chef to have face to face contact with customers, and on occasions, take food to tables.
Responsibilities
* Oversee food production processes to maintain quality and consistency in all dishes
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment
* Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and presentation standards
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods
* Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed
* Manage kitchen operations during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of meals
Skills
* Proven experience within a kitchen environment
* Strong background in food production and preparation techniques
* Proficient cooking skills
* Culinary qualifications or relevant hospitality training are advantageous
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
* Previous experience in a similar environment is desirable, enhancing your understanding of the dining experience
* Ability to serve customers with professionalism and attentiveness
