Prepare teaching materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans, develop curriculum, undertake quality assurance with the Head of Department, assess student work, monitor progress, and report on their development, including maintaining and reviewing Individual Learning Plans. Ensure statutory compliance such as safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety.

4. Hold regular meetings with students to set and review SMART targets, support UCAS applications, and address pastoral and academic needs, liaising with college support services.
5. Monitor attendance and results, report on performance, and develop action plans to improve retention and achievement.
6. Promote English and Maths learning, monitor attendance, and support students in these areas.
7. Participate in meetings, parent evenings, marketing events, and other college activities, including planning and coordinating parent consultation meetings.
8. Collaborate with colleagues to develop courses and training methods, participate in CPD, peer observations, and mentor new lecturers.
9. Contribute to departmental administration, including attendance marking, reporting, and updating the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
10. Engage in quality assurance activities such as verification, moderation, course reviews, and SARs. For lecturers on SPS points 5–8, undertake internal verification, coordinate action plans, support curriculum and quality initiatives, and liaise with higher education institutions.

Applicants must complete the full application form, providing:

* A comprehensive employment history from the end of full-time education, explaining any gaps.
