The role... As the Senior Wedding & Events Coordinator, working alongside the Events Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing the events and accommodation business within the corporate, social, and wedding markets. Your duties will include selling the venue through personal selling, proactive business development, presentations, and enhancing the venue's reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all telephone, personal, and written inquiries are handled promptly, courteously, and in line with company standards.
2. Handle a variety of event inquiries, including professional meetings, private functions, and weddings.
3. Manage upcoming bookings and support the coordinator.
4. Maintain a warm, personable manner, a proactive attitude, and an eye for detail.
5. Build client relationships confidently, with strong planning and organizational skills.
6. Be passionate, driven, and focused on achieving optimal results through proactive work approaches.
7. Exhibit excellent written and spoken communication skills.
8. Balance multiple activities within demanding timescales, often in reactive environments requiring immediate attention.
9. Attend and host Wedding Open Days and evenings throughout the year, and participate in Wedding Fairs on behalf of the company.
10. Deputize for the Event Sales Manager in their absence, ensuring sales records are maintained and distributed weekly.
11. Actively work to convert wedding inquiries, understand package allocations, and promote benefits to secure bookings.
12. Manage the sales office efficiently, ensuring function sheets are distributed and general office tasks are completed.
13. Confirm all events with final details, process deposits, and communicate documentation to clients and hotel staff.
14. Convert customer inquiries into confirmed sales, fostering future and repeat business to enhance hotel profitability.
15. Work flexible hours over 7 days to meet business demands.
16. Previous hotel experience is preferred, especially with Opera & Thynk systems; full training will be provided for the right candidate.
