Location: Coventry Background check required: None Closing Date: 30 April 2024 We're looking for an General Foreman to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team based on our site at Mogden, Twickenham in London. Location: Finham, Coventry Contract: Permanent, Full Time - flexible and part-time hours may be available if desired, just let us know Responsibilities As a General Foreman, you'll be working within the Natural Resources team working on a capital project worth £13m on a water treatment works site at Finham. The heavy civils scheme includes the sinking of 2 shafts up to 15m deep. At enabling works stage, with the installation of de-watering wells and establishing the site office, you'll manage all construction activities throughout the lifecycle of the project through to commissioning. You'll also manage and be responsible for management of sub-contractors and the weekly reporting on programme and cost. Your day to day will include: Assisting with the scope and objectives of the project and ensure construction operations are in accordance with the project requirements Controlling the project schedule to ensure timely completion and stop any work if it is deemed unsafe to continue Ensuring labour resources are utilised within the project where required and maintain records of daily site activities to monitor and track project progress What are we looking for? This role of General Foreman is great for you if you have: Experience in the water industry, along with a degree/HNC or NVQ Level 2 in Civil Engineering, or equivalent Previous role in Civil Engineering with knowledge of shaft sinking and pipeline works, as well as Formwork, reinforcement and concrete Good knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering Prior experience of managing site teams, subcontractors, and operative staff We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
