SIA Tutor – Adult Education
We are seeking a motivated SIA Tutor to join our Skills and Employment Team as a Casual Tutor. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of adult learning and vocational training, particularly in the field of Security Industry Authority (SIA) qualifications.
Please see Job Description and Person Specification for further details but to become an SIA tutor with us you will need to meet the minimum requirements set by the awarding body we work with - Highfield, and theses are outlined below:
1. You must have at least years’ front-line operational experience from within the last years. For all sectors except close protection, your experience must be from within the UK.
2. A Level or above teaching qualification
3. An Assessor qualification
4. A level Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training in the Private Security Industry (QCF/RQF) - see (ODT, KB)
5. A current certificate (updated annually) from an approved level programme provider that confirms your ability to deliver the skills in that approved level programme
6. Level Delivery of Conflict Management Training (NQF/QCF/RQF)
7. Tutors must also successfully complete a National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO)/SIA-endorsed counterterrorism programme such as the ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) Awareness training and the ACT security e-learning module, both of which must be completed annually

SIA Tutor – Adult Education
We are seeking a motivated SIA Tutor to join our Skills and Employment Team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of adult learning and vocational training, particularly in the field of Security Industry Authority (SIA) qualifications.
As an SIA Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering accredited training programmes, primarily focused on preparing learners for roles within the private security industry. This includes courses such as Door Supervision, CCTV Operations, and Security Guarding, up to and including Level. You may also contribute to wider curriculum areas such as Employability Skills, Health and Safety, Conflict Management, and Customer Service, depending on learner needs.
We are looking for a candidate with:
8. Proven experience in delivering SIA-related qualifications.
9. A strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance requirements of SIA training.
10. The ability to engage and support adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
11. Experience in planning and delivering high-quality learning programmes that promote progression into employment or further training.
You will be involved in the design, delivery, and assessment of learning programmes that support social regeneration, increase community engagement, and promote learner progression. All provision must embed equality and diversity, uphold British values, and maintain a high standard of teaching and learning.
Delivery will take place across the borough, including Skills and Employment Hubs, community venues, and other outreach locations. Flexibility and a learner-centred approach are essential.
