We are working with an independent special school, catering for up to 40 pupils aged 11 to 19 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school is currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Education Support Worker to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure that the school site, buildings, and grounds are consistently well-maintained, safe, and presentable.
* Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to coordinate and oversee the work of external contractors.
* Uphold high standards of Health and Safety throughout the school premises.
* Carry out routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs as required.
* Ensure that all heating, lighting, and alarm systems are operational and properly maintained.
* Organise and supervise external contractors for specialised maintenance or repair work.
* Always maintain the security of the school buildings and grounds.
Essential Criteria:
* Strong practical DIY skills and the ability to complete minor repairs independently.
* A sound understanding of Health and Safety regulations and practices.
* High level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
* Awareness of safeguarding and child protection principles within a school environment.
* Ability to use initiative, work independently, and manage time effectively.

* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (can be arranged via Teaching Personnel)
* Two most recent professional references covering the last 24 months
* Overseas Police Check if applicable (for candidates who have lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the past 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
