An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering this high profile, heavy civil engineering project in West London. The Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with overseeing a number of packages across the project which include twin-bored TBM tunnels, sprayed concrete lining, shaft sinking, bridge reconstruction, earthworks, and major services diversions. It's large-scale, long-term, and genuinely interesting work. They’re growing their commercial team to deliver a planned ramp up in work and can offer exciting career prospects for the right people.
The Role
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for pre and post-contract commercial duties. You'll work as part of an integrated project team, either independently or under the direction of a Senior Quantity Surveyor, with real responsibility from day one. The focus is on delivering accurate, value-generating commercial input across the full lifecycle of your allocated works.
What You'll Be Doing
* Contract management and administration, ensuring all notices and correspondence are accurate, timely, and compliant
* Preparation and assessment of applications for payment, valuations, and cost/value reconciliation
* Cost control and forecasting, including monthly reporting on value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow, and budget
* Identifying, analysing, and responding to commercial risks - feeding into risk and value management at project level
* Preparing supply chain enquiries, negotiating, administering, and closing out subcontracts
* Providing contractual advice to the project and site team as required
* Ongoing liaison with site teams, subcontractors, and the client's commercial representatives
* Maintaining commercial records, meeting packs, and minutes in line with contract and company requirements
What We're Looking For
* Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and at least four or more years of UK civil engineering experience
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Proactive, solutions-focused approach
* Right to work in the UK
