Associate Mechanical Engineer at EkkoSense AI

Job Summary
EkkoSense is looking for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to support our various teams in deploying unique data centre thermal/energy monitoring solutions and optimisation services. The role is performed in a flexible, fast‑moving environment and requires quick adaptation to changing customer demands.
Responsibilities
 * Provide advanced technical support to various teams, including Operations, Sales, and Engineering.
 * Contribute technical on‑site and off‑site support to the R&D effort.
 * Support the M&E services’ digital‑twin modelling projects from conceptualisation to delivery.
 * Manage and deliver software‑led data centre cooling optimisation projects.
 * Carry out feasibility surveys, assessments, and produce reports.
 * Attend design team and/or client team meetings, if required.
 * Carry out risk assessments and value engineering.
 * Undertake duties and comply with all the company’s Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.
Qualifications
 * 5+ years of mechanical or thermal engineering experience, preferably in data centres in a design or operational capacity.
 * Qualified building services/mechanical engineer, preferably specialised in data centre cooling systems and controls.
 * Strong technical competency in HVAC technologies for mission‑critical facilities.
 * Experience with design and optimal implementation of hydronic systems.
 * Knowledge of critical environment software technologies (BMS, SNMP, BEMS, Modbus, etc.).
 * Experience using 3D software packages, including professional CFD, CAD, and BIM systems.
 * Strong computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
 * Clean Full UK driving licence.
 * Willingness to work on‑site across the UK and occasional sites in continental EU and US.
 * Good organisational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 * Membership in ASHRAE and/or CIBSE, with or working towards chartership.
 * Awareness of energy‑saving techniques and methodologies used in critical environments.
 * Additional business development skills and ability to generate additional revenues (optional).
Location
Nottingham, England, United Kingdom (primary location; remote possibilities may be considered). Please note a requirement to travel across the UK, EU and US.
