HR Generalist - 6-Month Contract


Location: Basingstoke
Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (6 Months)



About the Role:


We are currently recruiting for a proactive and experienced HR Generalist to join a well-established organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a varied and hands-on role, offering exposure across all core HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR systems.



Key Responsibilities:


Recruitment & Selection



1. Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including applications, interviews, and onboarding.

2. Liaise with external recruitment partners when required.

3. Issue offer letters, conduct reference checks, and manage leaver documentation.



Employee Benefits



4. Administer employee benefits and support staff with queries and claims.

5. Manage absence records including sickness and other types of leave.



Employee Relations



6. Advise managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.

7. Support investigations and disciplinary/grievance processes.

8. Attend hearings and provide documentation and note-taking support.



HR Administration & Systems



9. Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.

10. Assist with salary reviews, bonus schemes, and reporting.

11. Respond to employee queries and support the HR Manager with daily operations.



General HR Support



12. Manage internal HR platforms and communications.

13. Support internal engagement initiatives including newsletters, surveys, and recognition programs.

14. Participate in HR projects and meetings.

15. Promote equality, diversity, and health & safety across the organisation.




Candidate Profile:



16. Previous experience in a generalist HR role.

17. Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.

18. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

19. Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

20. Experience with HR systems and reporting tools is desirable.
