Who this role would suit
This role would suit someone with experience in:
* Building maintenance or facilities services
* Healthcare, commercial or public sector estates environments
You’ll need to be practical, organised and comfortable working independently across multiple sites.
The role
As part of the Estates Services team, you’ll support the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical and building systems across Trust sites.
You will:
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance work
* Complete electrical and general building repairs
* Support installation and improvement works
* Help maintain safe, compliant healthcare environments
* Work across a range of Trust premises throughout Sussex
* Participate in the on-call rota following induction
This is a role where no two days are the same, with a mix of fault‑finding, repairs, maintenance and site support.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who:
* Holds a relevant electrical or building maintenance qualification
* Has experience working within a maintenance environment
* Understands health and safety requirements
* Can work calmly and effectively under pressure
* Has strong communication and problem‑solving skills
* Is comfortable travelling between sites
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent within a building trade
* City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical (or equivalent)
* Full UK driving licence
A CSCS card would be advantageous.
Working pattern & additional information
* Participation in on-call rota required following induction
* Additional payments provided for on-call duties
* Trust van provided for work‑related travel
