We are looking for a kind, calm, and patient Personal Assistant to join our small home‑based support team.
The role is to support a nearly 17‑year‑old autistic young woman with a PDA profile who is situationally mute. She has a wonderful sense of humour and a range of interests, including playing bass guitar, creating art, vintage clothes, charity shops and spending time with her much‑loved dog.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys making a difference in a young person's life while working as part of a supportive and friendly team.
Main Duties
* Build a trusted and caring 1:1 relationship
* Support with trips out of the house (social, leisure, and everyday activities)
* Encourage independence and wellbeing at home, including support with cooking
* Provide neuro‑affirming support, with an understanding of autism, anxiety, and spiky sensory profiles
* Work in a calm, flexible and respectful way that values her interests and preferences
Personal Qualities and Attributes required
* Kind, reliable and able to use humour appropriately
* Experience of supporting autistic people, particularly those with PDA and anxiety
* Understanding of sensory needs
* Car owner with driving licence; use of own vehicle required and business insurance essential
