Control Room Operator at Anchor Group Services – Join to apply. This role is based at the Anchor Group Services Head Office – Carlton House, Chester Business Park, CH4 9QE.
Working hours are 4 on 4 off nights, 12-hour shifts, 6pm–6am, average 42 hours per week. Pay is £27,518 per annum. Reports to the Control Room Manager.
Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Control Room Operator to join the established Anchor Group Services’ Control team based at our Head Quarters in Chester Business Park. The successful candidate will assist with control room operations, monitor staff activity, support shift coverage, and assist the smooth operation of control systems such as CCTV and alarm response. The role offers opportunities for career progression, hands-on training, and development within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Duties
* Co-ordinate multiple site systems and monitor on/off check calls.
* Support the control team in identifying unfilled shifts and contacting available staff when required.
* Respond to unplanned absences or staffing issues by reallocating staff or calling in relief personnel.
* Record and escalate issues with check calls, absences, or incidents to the relevant department or management.
* Communicate clearly and professionally with on-site teams regarding shift changes and staffing adjustments.
* Monitor site-based security and cleaning teams by obtaining, collating and reviewing information from multiple sources.
* Ensure accurate and timely logging and recording of information using IT systems in accordance with operational processes.
* Provide information, data and appropriate advice to relevant parties using available systems.
* Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
* Full 5-year, employment-checkable history.
* Valid frontline SIA licence DS, SG or CCTV.
* Previous industry-related experience preferred but not essential.
* Excellent IT skills and computer literacy.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
* Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Timegate, Immix, Teams, SharePoint and Office would be an advantage.
Due to the nature of the role, substantial time will be invested in training and development to ensure competency with bespoke management systems.
