This role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in delivering complex payroll and benefits services for an international workforce, supporting over 3,000 employees across multiple locations and currencies. You will be at the heart of a collaborative HR Operations team, ensuring the smooth execution of payroll processes, maintaining data accuracy, and providing expert advice to staff at all levels. With a focus on both operational excellence and continuous improvement, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented environment and enjoys working with diverse stakeholders. The organisation values flexibility, professional growth, and offers exposure to unique payroll challenges within a supportive and knowledgeable team.

* Be responsible for managing high-volume, multi-currency payroll processes for an international workforce of over 3,000 employees and board members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
* Work closely with HR Operations colleagues to deliver seamless onboarding, lifecycle changes, and benefits administration using SAP, while providing clear guidance to staff and stakeholders on complex pay-related matters.
* Enjoy flexible working opportunities in a central London location, benefit from ongoing training opportunities, and contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce risk across the organisation.

What you'll do:

As a Payroll Administrator and Analyst, your day-to-day activities will involve managing the end-to-end delivery of payroll services for a large international workforce. You will be entrusted with entering critical employee data into SAP, validating benefit claims, administering contractual changes throughout the employee lifecycle, and ensuring that every transaction meets rigorous standards of accuracy. Your responsibilities will extend beyond routine processing; you will also investigate anomalies, resolve discrepancies efficiently, and provide expert advice on complex pay-related queries. Working collaboratively within the HR Operations team, you will liaise with various departments as well as external partners to ensure seamless service delivery. Your analytical skills will be put to use preparing reconciliations across multiple currencies while adhering strictly to audit requirements. By contributing your insights towards process enhancements—such as automating workflows—you will help drive continuous improvement within the function. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, adaptability in responding promptly to stakeholder needs, and a commitment to upholding confidentiality at all times.

* Validate and administer all employee benefit claims while offering clear advice on associated policies to ensure accurate processing.
* Investigate anomalies in payroll data, propose effective solutions, and exercise sound judgement when resolving discrepancies or issues.
* Enter and validate information related to joiners, movers, leavers, and other contractual changes into the SAP payroll system in line with organisational policies.
* Monitor data quality rigorously to guarantee monthly payroll accuracy so that all employees are paid correctly and on time.
* Stay up-to-date with recent changes in payroll processes by interpreting new policy guidance and implementing required actions to a high standard.
* Act as a centre of expertise by advising staff and key stakeholders on all aspects of leave linked to payroll such as maternity leave or working incapacity.
* Validate retirement plan calculations to determine correct leaving entitlements for departing employees.
* Produce monthly payrolls for headquarters and resident offices following strict audit controls; analyse errors or omissions thoroughly until resolution is achieved.
* Prepare multi-currency reconciliations of payroll-related accounts each month, including detailed analysis of transactions for financial controllers as needed.
* Collaborate with third-party service providers (e.g., medical insurance or retirement plan administrators) by analysing data and producing accurate reports according to agreed service levels.

What you bring:

To excel as a Payroll Administrator and Analyst, you will bring substantial hands-on experience managing complex international payrolls—ideally gained within financial services or similarly regulated sectors. Your background should include direct involvement with sophisticated systems such as SAP or Swift where you have demonstrated your ability to handle high volumes of transactions accurately. You are known for your methodical approach when organising workloads independently under pressure while remaining responsive to shifting priorities. Your interpersonal strengths enable you to build trust-based relationships across teams; you communicate clearly whether advising colleagues on policy matters or collaborating with external providers. A keen eye for detail ensures that your work stands up under audit scrutiny even when dealing with intricate multi-currency reconciliations. Above all else, your sense of responsibility means confidential information is always handled sensitively—a quality that makes you dependable when navigating delicate scenarios involving pay or benefits.

* Demonstrated experience in professional international payroll administration within a large-scale or financial services environment is essential for success in this role.
* Proficiency with bespoke payroll applications is required; prior experience using SAP or Swift systems is highly desirable.
* Exceptional planning and organisational skills are necessary so you can independently prioritise tasks under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
* A proven track record of working effectively within collaborative team environments where knowledge sharing is encouraged.
* Advanced attention to detail is vital for delivering highly accurate work across high transaction volumes involving multiple currencies.
* Strong partnership-building skills combined with an ability to influence outcomes positively through problem-solving approaches tailored for client orientation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed so you can respond flexibly and promptly to stakeholder needs using outstanding interpersonal abilities.
* Experience handling sensitive situations discreetly while maintaining confidentiality around personal or financial information is crucial.
* Fluency in English (both written and oral) is mandatory due to the multinational nature of the workforce served by this role.
* Familiarity with data analysis tools or processes relevant to payroll operations would be advantageous.
