About the Role
As an Instrumentation & Control Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of a wide range of instrumentation systems and their components. These may be electronic, electro-mechanical, or pneumatic, and are used to monitor, record, and control critical equipment and processes on site.
This role is integral to ensuring plant reliability, with a focus on timely fault diagnosis and restoration of equipment to optimal condition. You’ll be working with a variety of test and measurement equipment, interpreting engineering drawings, and following rigorous safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assemble, install, maintain, repair, diagnose faults, and disassemble instrumentation & control systems.
* Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and equipment manuals.
* Use the correct tools, methods, and safety procedures for all tasks.
* Identify defects and anomalies, taking the appropriate corrective action.
* Test and verify equipment function for Return to Service (RTS).
* Operate within formal Permit to Work (PTW) and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
* Maintain care and security of all tools and equipment used.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* ECITB or other relevant apprenticeship, or HNC/D with appropriate experience.
* Valid CompEx Inspection certificate (Ex01-04).
* Strong understanding of fire & gas detection, process safety systems, and emergency shutdown systems.
* Familiarity with the food industry would be advantageous.
* Experience in hazardous environments and adherence to PTW systems.

Schedule:
* Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (core hours)
