We are looking for an enthusiastic Gastroenterologist to Lead our established IBD service and take on an established cohort of IBD patients. This post is made up of 7.875 Direct Clinical Activities and 2.125 Supporting Professional Activities. The post-holder will be on call for acute gastrointestinal bleeding rota currently covering both THH and Harefield Hospital on a 1 week in 7 basis. This attracts 1 PA, within the DCC allocation. The intention would be to remove the Harefield commitment from the department in the future, with a consequent 0.5PA reduction. There is an availability uplift for on-call from THHFT (currently 5%). There is no General Medical on call commitment for this post. Applicants must hold a CCT in Gastroenterology and GIM or be within 6 months of CCT to be eligible to apply for the post.
The successful candidate will join the six existing consultants, Dr Grover (Hepatology and Gastroenterology, Departmental Clinical Lead), Dr Lean (Upper GI cancer Lead), Dr Postgate (ERCP and Interventional Endoscopy), Dr Rameshshanker (complex Interventional Endoscopy, ERCP and Endoscopy Lead), Dr Arun Rajendran (Endoscopy Training Lead) and Dr Sid Oke (Nutrition Lead). The department works closely as a cohesive clinical team with complimentary interests. We are primarily looking for an individual who will work well with our team in our fantastic Unit.
