Agri-Supply Chain Engagement Manager
Description
This role is responsible for building meaningful, commercially relevant relationships across the agri‑food sector to accelerate the commercialisation of emerging agri‑tech.
The role ensures that agri‑tech businesses and their technologies are aligned with industry need, commercially viable, and supported by the necessary advisory capability, skills development, and stakeholder awareness.
The postholder will act as a bridge between innovation pipelines, industry customers, advisors, and professional bodies—ensuring innovations translate into measurable on‑farm ROI and scalable market uptake.
This role is field-based, meaning you’ll be travelling to client sites, partner sites, and company locations as part of your day‑to‑day work. You may also work from home for a minority of the week or visit one of our sites from time to time. Our main locations are: Oxford, York, Edinburgh, Cranfield, Newport (Midlands).
Key responsibilities
* Deliver an engagement strategy to raise awareness of emerging and newly launched agri‑tech solutions to relevant industry stakeholders
* Work with relevant teams to ensure technologies are demonstrated in relevant operational environments (commercial farms, advisory networks, supply chains)
* Gather and communicate robust evidence of return on investment (ROI), productivity gains, environmental impact, and commercial viability
* Position the organisation as a trusted, independent broker of credible innovation
* Collaborate with industry bodies, professional associations, and training providers to identify emerging skills gaps linked to new technologies
* Ensure required competencies are captured and embedded into relevant CPD schemes and advisory frameworks
* Develop clear communications and engagement plans that articulate the current and future agri‑tech pipeline
* Engage key stakeholders (farmers, advisors, supply chain actors, processors, retailers, policymakers) to build awareness of technologies in development
* Represent the organisation at relevant industry activities/events
* Translate technical outputs into commercially relevant narratives for different stakeholder audiences
* Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with industry customers, supply chain partners, and corporate stakeholders
* Support innovators within programmes to access industry/customer feedback
* Contribute to go‑to‑market strategies and partnership agreements that maximise adoption success
* Contribute to reporting, impact measurement, and continuous improvement across programmes
* Work cross‑functionally with relevant teams to ensure cohesive delivery
What we are looking for
* Strong network across the UK agri‑food sector
* Experience in agri‑tech, agricultural innovation, or related rural industries
* Demonstrable experience building partnerships across industry and professional bodies
* Experience translating technical innovation into commercially relevant messaging
* Understanding of farm business drivers (productivity, profitability, sustainability)
* Familiarity with CPD frameworks and professional accreditation schemes
* Experience supporting technology commercialisation or go‑to‑market strategies
* Commercial acumen
* Influencing and stakeholder management
* Systems thinking (innovation → skills → adoption → impact)
* Clear communicator across multiple audiences
UK driving licence is mandatory.
