Job Description:
What you'll be doing?
Within the Construction environment, you will be involved in buying materials, managing large projects, ensuring health and safety, and providing customer service. We work on approximately 400 developments across the UK, including town and rural areas, with unique challenges such as new builds on brownfield sites and adapting existing structures like old factories and hospitals.
We seek individuals who can bring fresh ideas and imagination, alongside the commercial skills to manage people, budgets, and costs. Our construction teams are recognized for excellence, having won more NHBC Pride in the Job Awards than any other housebuilder for thirteen consecutive years.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will assist in managing the site development from start to finish, ensuring targets for Programme, Quality, and Cost are met through effective team and subcontractor management.
You will be expected to:
1. Support the Site Manager in coordinating trades, labor, and materials to meet production schedules.
2. Collaborate with the Sales Team, attend regular Sales/Build meetings, adhere to procedures, and oversee inspections of show homes.
3. Take responsibility for duties as assigned by the Site Manager; deputize for the Site Manager when needed.
4. Support the construction team by ensuring proper resourcing, clear responsibilities, effective communication, training, and workload organization.
5. Deliver excellent customer service in line with company standards.
What you'll need?
To succeed, you should have:
1. Experience working within established build programs.
2. Assertiveness to ensure target delivery by the team and trades/labor.
3. Ability to prioritize tasks amidst changing business needs.
4. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Builders and/or NVQ level qualification in Construction Management, or extensive trades experience.
5. Deep knowledge of construction trades, health and safety, NHBC standards, and Building Regulations.
6. Strong understanding of customer service issues related to construction projects.
