ASC Class Teacher – BS4 (September Start)
Vision for Education are recruiting a dedicated and passionate ASC Class Teacher to work in specialist settings across the BS4 area.
This role is offered as a 0-hour contract, giving flexibility and choice over your working pattern. However, for the right ASC Class Teacher, there is a strong opportunity for the role to become permanent. The position is available for a September start, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm.
We are looking for an ASC Class Teacher who is committed to supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition and who wants to make a genuine impact in specialist education.
About the ASC Class Teacher Role
As an ASC Class Teacher, you will be working in specialist provisions supporting pupils with autism and associated additional needs. The ASC Class Teacher role requires patience, consistency, and a structured approach to learning.
This ASC Class Teacher position is ideal for someone who is adaptable and confident working in a highly supportive SEND environment.
Responsibilities of the ASC Class Teacher
As an ASC Class Teacher, you will:
1. Plan and deliver personalised lessons as an ASC Class Teacher tailored to individual learning needs
2. Support pupils with autism, communication differences, and sensory needs as an ASC Class Teacher
3. Create structured, predictable learning environments as an ASC Class Teacher
4. Use specialist strategies such as visual timetables, and sensory learning approaches
5. Work closely with teaching assistants and therapists as an ASC Class Teacher
6. Support and implement EHCP targets as an ASC Class Teacher
7. Build strong, consistent relationships as an ASC Class Teacher to support engagement and progress

What We Are Looking For in an ASC Class Teacher
To be successful as an ASC Class Teacher, you will need:
12. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
13. A passion for working as an ASC Class Teacher in SEND/ASC education
14. Strong behaviour management and communication skills as an ASC Class Teacher
15. Patience, resilience, and adaptability as an ASC Class Teacher
16. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team as an ASC Class Teacher
17. An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Experience as an ASC Class Teacher or in SEND settings is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
