Project Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Overview:
A leading, multi-site manufacturing organisation is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to deliver capital and improvement projects across a highly regulated, operational site. This is a key role supporting long-term investment in infrastructure, sustainability, and digital transformation.
You will manage small-to-medium-sized capital projects (typically £500k–£5m), from feasibility and business case through to delivery, commissioning, and review. Working within a cross-functional team, this role is ideal for someone who thrives on technical detail, collaborative delivery, and making a visible operational impact.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end delivery of multi-disciplinary capital projects across manufacturing and utilities infrastructure.
* Conduct feasibility studies, develop engineering designs, and manage contractor activities.
* Resolve complex plant issues and support continuous improvement, sustainability, and capacity expansion.
* Translate long-term needs into robust investment proposals with detailed business cases and CAPEX justification.
* Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and HSE teams to ensure compliance and best practice.
* Embed governance, track capital performance, and continuously improve project standards.
Ideal Background:
* Proven experience delivering capital projects in manufacturing or industrial settings.
* Background in electrical engineering or strong exposure to EC&I (electrical, control, and instrumentation) systems.
* Project management and contractor coordination experience in a regulated environment (e.g., food, chemicals, water, energy).
* Comfortable working within COMAH/PPC/ISO environments or similar high-compliance settings.
* A hands-on, solutions-focused engineer keen to take on increased project scope over time.
