About Us
Valleys Link Pharmacy in Cilfynydd is a progressive, community‑focused pharmacy working closely with Valleys Medical Group and a range of local healthcare partners. We provide a wide range of services, including support for care homes, blister pack (MDS) dispensing, and expanding clinical services within the community.
We are looking for an ACT who wants to be part of a pharmacy that is growing, modernising, and committed to delivering high‑quality patient care.
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join our team. This role goes beyond traditional accuracy‑checking duties. You will play a key part in ensuring smooth operational compliance, supporting dispensary staff, and helping drive service development.
The ACT will also act as an important link between the pharmacy, care home teams, GP surgery staff, and other key workers, ensuring communication and workflow remain efficient and patient‑centred.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the core ACT role but is also eager to expand their skills and take on new responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

* Supporting daily dispensary operations to ensure safe and efficient workflow
* Overseeing operational compliance, ensuring SOPs and quality standards are followed
* Coaching and supporting dispensers, helping develop skills and confidence
* Working with care homes, including blister pack (MDS) preparation and communication with care staff
* Acting as a bridge between pharmacy and key workers, including GP surgery teams, care home staff, and other healthcare professionals
* Participating in service delivery, including flu vaccinations, smoking cessation, and other clinical services
* Supporting service expansion, identifying opportunities to improve and grow patient‑focused services
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Accuracy Checking Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
* Proactive, organised, and confident in supporting dispensary workflow
* Willingness to expand skills into vaccination services, smoking cessation, and other clinical roles
* Open to career progression and taking on additional responsibilities
* Excellent communication skills, especially when working with care homes and GP partners
What We Offer
* Opportunities for professional development and upskilling
* Involvement in innovative GP–pharmacy collaborative services
* A varied role with genuine scope to grow as our services expand
