Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: GBP 30,000 : GBP 35,000 per annum
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well:established engineering and manufacturing company based in York. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of machinery and automotive:related projects, with a strong focus on fabrication and sheet metal design.
Key Responsibilities:
: Design mechanical components, assemblies, and machinery using SolidWorks.
: Produce detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models.
: Design sheet metal components and welded fabrications to manufacturing standards.
: Support machinery and automotive design projects from concept through to manufacture.
: Liaise with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost:effective.
: Generate BOMs and technical documentation.
: Support prototype builds, testing, and design improvements.
Skills and Experience Required:
: Strong experience using SolidWorks (essential).
: Background in mechanical design within fabrication, machinery, or automotive environments.
: Medium:level experience with fabrication and sheet metal design.
: Good understanding of manufacturing processes including welding and machining.
: Strong attention to detail and problem:solving skills.
: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
: Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
