Your New Role
Job Purpose
As a Purchasing Assistant within the Purchasing and Supply Chain team, you will support the team of buyers by preparing Purchase Orders using forecasting techniques, maintaining the products database, preparing reports and develop analysis tools, preparing NPD meetings, reconciling invoices, investigating stock discrepancies and any ad hoc tasks as per business requirement. The successful candidate will have strong understanding of buying process circle and be a keen food lover. Good knowledge of MS package is compulsory, understanding of ERP and WMS systems is a strong advantage.
Main duties
· Prepare Purchase order on behalf of respective category buyer.
· Ensure a high standard of data integrity and accuracy within the ERP system.
· Support Buyer into managing supplier price files calculating landed cost prices, product margins and general sales prices.
· Prepare periodic cost price update
· Liaise with warehouse team to investigate stock discrepancies
· Reconcile invoices against goods receipts
· Any other Ad Hoc task as per business requirement
Business Engagement
· Actively participate to the good running of the department by showing initiative whilst unsupervised.
· Participate to process improvement, sharing ideas to reduce costs.
· Complete all company trainings.
The Purchasing Assistant reports to the Purchasing Manager.
Requirements
· Experience in a FMCG supply chain / purchasing role an advantage
· Organised with an excellent eye for detail, proven ability to handle large amounts of data to translate in to clear, specific instructions and targets
· Excellent communication skills
· A dynamic individual with experience in dealing with multiple suppliers
· Able to build strong relationships, both externally and internally
· Demonstrate perseverance and resilience in the pursuit of goals
· Strong IT skills with experience using Excel, PowerPoint and ERP systems
· A can do attitude with a strength in problem solving
